My 100th Post!

Wow! I started blogging a little over a year ago (see why below!)

If you enjoy reading my blog and have NEVER said hello and left me a comment before, please do so! I know from my sitemeter that I have some loyal visitors from Oregon, Illinois, Washington, California, Texas, New Jersey, and lots of other areas. Please stop by and say hello. I would love to know who's reading "Doubly Blessed" and to make a new friend!

If I already know you and you enjoy my blog, would you leave me a comment too? Let me know what you like most about my blog?!

The Reasons I Blog...

When my friends Leilanni and Ginger started blogging, I was clueless. I had no idea what it was or how to do it. They both had babies my boys' age and I had so much fun seeing pictures of them and reading all about the cute things they were doing. We had just moved away from DFW and I was so lonely! It was a great way to feel "connected" with my friends. So, I thought I would give it a try.

1. The main reason I blog is to keep the grandparents and family updated on Bryce and Drew. All 3 sets of grandparents live in Washington state and all of our siblings and extended family live in different states as well.

2. We have a lot of dear friends that live all over the country as well. It's a great way to keep them updated on our lives.

3. It is a great outlet/hobby for me. I am a stay-at-home mom so it gives me a fun, creative outlet to pursue while chasing after the boys!

4. It is a great way to meet new people. I have met a lot of other blogging mom's throughout the blogging community, most of which are Mom's of twins and higher order multiples. It's been encouraging to be able to see the lives of families with multiples - their triumphs, their challenges, etc. We are here to encourage and help one another!

5. I love to cook and eat (mostly healthful foods!) and enjoy sharing recipes with others.

But, one of the coolest reasons I blog...

6. I didn't know until several months after I started blogging that you can actually turn your Blog into a book! Click here to learn more. Jimmy and I do a great job of photographing our boys. We have taken thousands of pictures of them. We also take a lot of video of them that Jimmy then burns onto DVD's but I am not good at keeping a baby book updated or photo albums for them. Several friends and family are awesome scrapbookers. They have made beautiful albums of their children but I'm just not patient or creative enough to do it...it actually makes me anxious! So, when I learned that http://www.blurb.com/ can upload all of my blog entries into a beautiful hardcover book, I was thrilled. Now I can post about holidays, vacations, visits from grandparents, things the boys are doing, etc, in chronological order and then turn it into a book for each of the boys. And, someday when they are grown and out of the house hopefully they will be cooking all of their favorite "Family Food Faves" recipes!

Thanks for reading my blog and keeping up with The Richardson's!

Don't forget to leave your comment!

Yay! Happy 100th! I love reading your blog and watching your boys grow. I smile when I think back on the girls at that age...even though it wasn't that long ago. You have precious boys, and I hope you have hundreds more posts so I can continue to see them grow!

Hi,
I'm Paula. Gramma Shari and I have been friends since 1st grade. She suggested I check out your blog not long after your first post, to see the boys.
What cuties they are! I love reading about their playing, their learning and the joy they give you. I loved the fishing post. Nothing could have been more precious than the 3 generations fishing together.

Karen-
I so much enjoy reading your blog too. The boys are soooo cute! It is fun to hear about the cute little stories too. Blogging is sure a great way to share pictures and stories to family and friends that live far away. Keep up the good work and happy 100th blog post!

Hi Karen, I love your BLOG. We just got back today from our Alaska cruise with your Mom and Mike. Had a great time. I'll send you a few pictures. It's really nice that you will be able to use the blog as a book. I still do scrapbooks and I love looking back at them. I have a folder that is labeled "Recipes from Karen's blog" and I have tried some good ones. You are lucky that the boys are such good eaters. It makes life so much easier as they get older. Take care and keep up the good work. Sandy

Hello, my friend! I really miss talking with you and seeing you, so now and then I try to catch up with your sweet little family by reading your blog. It's almost like being there! And I think of you fondly whenever I use a recipe in my "Friends" Cookbook - yes I still have it! Give my best to Jimmy - someday we'll have to get ALL of our boys together!

From your old college friend/goose girl...

I love everything about your blog! Even if I get behind, I can check it and get caught up. Even though we don't get to see you all more than a few times a year, we at least get to peak in and see what is going on in the Richardson household. Love, love seeing all the pics and stories about the boys.
